Steve Saves Stacks!

Steve decided to get involved with CodeRed through curiosity - not really sure about the whole climate change thing, but wanted to see if he could save a bit of dosh.

By choosing some of the "Easy/ No Cost" tips for Individuals & Homes, Steve decided to put draught stoppers on all the doors, made sure he drew the curtains at dusk, washed his clothes in cold water and dried them on the line, turned off any lights that weren't in use and got rid of his beer fridge (which was always on, but hardly ever had anything in it!).

He was surprised and thrilled to realise that when the next power bill arrived, it was heaps less than usual - "I was stoked with how much less electricity I'd used" he said.

"It just goes to show that paying a bit of attention to the way you live can actually have quite an effect on things like energy use, I guess".

Of course, by reducing his power bill, Steve has also reduced his greenhouse gas emissions, so it's a real win-win situation!

After this small success, Steve is keen to check out some of the other tips for things he can do at home on the cheap to save money (and reduce emissions!).
