Code Red has been developed by the Nelson Environment Centre (NEC) with support from Nelson City Council. Its main role is to educate, inspire and promote action for the environment around the Nelson/Tasman region. Reducing your carbon footprint isn’t hard – in fact it’s pretty easy and it could end up saving you money as well as saving the planet! By committing to do some of the actions on this site, you can make a difference to the world around you. So come on and get involved!
Why is it important?
Because time is running out!You’ve read the papers, heard it on the radio and seen it on TV – climate change is one of the most talked about issues of this century. The evidence is clear – it’s real and happening now! But there is still a chance that we can avoid some of the worst effects of climate change by making changes to the way we live our lives. Taking action now will make a difference for the future – start today and don’t delay!
